CeNTAB--A journey into the Nanoworld

The Centre for Nanotechnology & Advanced Biomaterials (CeNTAB) at SASTRA was formally inaugurated on September 24, 2006 by His Excellency Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the then president of India and was dedicated to the nation. Since its inception, the Centre has engaged actively in the synthesis and characterization of nanostructured materials for both therapeutic and diagniostic applications. The Centre has received various research grants from Government funding agencies and has established links with industries and research institutes across the globe with an aim to develop products based on nanomaterials that could be commercialized in the near future.

The vision of the Centre is to become a pioneer in the field of Medical Nanotechnology and translate laboratory results into commercial products that will improve health care immensely.
