National Workshop on Embedded Systems

09th May to 11th May 2005 - A Report

Session - I

The inaugural session was followed by Session – I titled Embedded Systems Design in which Dr.K.Neelakandan from Rambus Chip Technologies , Bangalore and Guru Prasad R Athani from Infosys, Bangalore were the speakers. The speech included two topics “Low Power Embedded System Design Considerations “ and “ Paradigm changes in Audio/Video Compression” respectively. Mr. Athani delivered the lecture sharing his thoughts on MPEG video format and its encoding details.

Session - II

After the Lunch Break, Session – II started with a focus on Embedded Software and Middleware. The Mr. Kevin D’souza from Microsoft, Bangalore delivered the speech on Embedded Computing with Win CE and .NET.

Session - III

The last session for the first day was the Demo Session. The Applied Digital Microsystems Limited from Mumbai staged a demonstration of the Universal In-Circuit Emulator for Microcontroller. It was followed by the visit of the delegates to the various labs in TIFAC –CORE premises together with the demonstrations using Micro controllers in Embedded Systems Lab. With this the sessions for the day came to an end.
