National Workshop on Embedded Systems

 09th May to 11th May 2005 - A Report

 

Session - IV

The second day commenced with Session – IV with a theme on Trusted computing on Embedded Systems. The first speech was given by Prof.K.Usha Devi, Dean , School of Computing on Security Issues in Embedded systems. She focused on Security Issues in Embedded Devices. The next speaker was Ms. Balagunapriya from i Wave Systems, Bangalore who talked about the building blocks and the essential features of  Embedded Systems. After a Tea Break , Mr. G. Samabasiva Rao  of CDAC delivered a speech on Open source security frame work.
 
Session - V

Session – V started with a speech on DSP , micro & Convergence in Embedded System by Dr. L. R. Rajagopal from SANDS Instrumentation P Ltd , Chennai. The next session dealt with Hardware Software code design and testing. In session – IV demonstrations were staged by SANDS Instrumentation  on the topic Embedded VLSI : Integrated Testing. There were  few demonstrations using microcontrollers in the Embedded systems Lab  This was followed by the  address delivered by the eminent speaker Dr.K.S.Chari Senior Director, Microelectronics Division, from the Ministry of Information Technology, Delhi on the topics “Design and development of an SoC embedded system for a Digital Hearing Aid”  followed by a general interest topic of today “Nano Technology”, which drew lot of attention from the young graduates and research scholars.  The session was so interactive  with lot of   enthusiastic  questions from the audience which resulted in    an interesting long two hour interaction.
