Second TIFAC-CORE's Meet was held on October 7-9, 2004 at SURAT . Honorable  Dr. R. Chidambaram, Chairman, TIFAC & Principal Scientific Advisor to Government of India, presided the three days meet and inaugurated the exhibition stalls of TIFAC-CORE’s product models. All TIFAC-CORE's participated. Presentation was given by Prof. Usha Devi, Co-ordinator, TIFAC-CORE in Advanced Computing and Information Processing, about TIFAC-CORE at SASTRA and its activities. A session on "Mission REACH: Lessons learnt & path forward" was organized during the second day of the Meet. During the valedictory session, Prof. Ramamurthy emphasized on the issue of self-sustainability and experienced happiness on the success of the various TIFAC-CORE's. On the third day, the participants visited KRIBHCO, Reliance Industries and Essar Steel at Hazira near Surat and infrastructure projects like Water & sewage Treatment Plants of Surat city.
