In the Second session Dr.Maja Remskar, J Stefan Institute, Solid state physics department  Slovenia. delivered  a tutorial on : Nanofabrication technologies inorganic Nanotubes”. She gave an introduction to Nanofabrication. She illustrated the types  of tubes such as carbon nanotubes, inorganic nanotubes. She also gave a review of physical & chemical methods for the synthesis of inorganic nanotubes and conductor for change of geometry. She also shared the various applications of inorganic nanotubes

 

Dr.Debabrata Goswami,TIFR, Mumbai gave an introduction to “ Optical Computing”. He illustrated the advantages & disadvantages of miniaturizing the component. He, also gave an introduction on optical computers, use of optics in computer and limitations. He also talked about nonlinear optics and various applications of optical schemes for quantum computing.

In Third session Dr.David Hodgson, University of Warwick, UK gave a short introduction on “ Nature and means of expressions of the Gene”. He also talked about determination of function of protein,  DNA Replication, Gene and Gene Regulation.

 

Dr.Aulice Scibioh, IIT, Chennai, India, delivered a lecture on “ Materials for Nano Technologies”. She gave a review of research developments towards nanometer scale electronic switching devices for use in building ultra-densely integrated electronic computers. She briefly explained the miniaturization laws of quantum mechanics and nano electronics and molecular electronic devices. She illustrated the difference between Nanophysics  and Nanochemistry. Finally she explained the Microelectronic transistor  and solid state quantum effects.
