National Workshop on Embedded Systems

Mr. Santhosh Kumar, Texas Instruments, Bangalore spoke on “Multi channel Audio and DSP”.

In the post lunch session, Prof. Rangarajan, Asst.Professor, EEE from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Sriperambadur, giving introduction on “Real Time Operating Systems – RTOS” added how RTOS becomes an embedding systems.

In his key note address, Dr. Thambipillai Srikanthan, Director, CHiPES, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore spoke about the emerging trends and challenges in Embedded Systems. The session was very much appreciated with too many interactive questions.

On the Second day, Prof. N. R. Ravi from Sands Instruments, Chennai spoke about what Embedded and Real Time Systems are. He stated what makes an operating systems embedded and also distinguished microcontroller from microprocessor. He concluded by listing the applications of Embedded Systems.

Mr.S.Saravanan of TIFAC-CORE spoke on VLSI Design which comprised its history, design flow, structures, logic design and output verification and Mr. Kevin Tom & Mr. Saravanan of TIFAC-CORE took a lab session with hands on training on available embedded software and system design tools in the lab.
