The Tata Consultancy Services [TCS] has
established 18 laboratories in the country for pursuing advanced
research in frontier areas, said Pattabhiraman Krishnaswamy,
Academic Relations Manager, Tata Consultancy Services here on
Monday.
Speaking at the presentation of the Best Student Project awards to
four students at Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research
Academy (SASTRA) University, Mr. Krishnaswamy said that the areas of
research pursued by TCS include advanced computing and embedded
systems.
The
TCS has selected only three educational institutions among nearly
240 engineering colleges in the State for giving the Best Student
Project Award and SASTRA is one among them.
The
award is given for students with a view to recognise their talents.
After
selecting the students for the award their growth is tracked down,
financial assistance is given to them to go abroad, both technical
and non-technical support is provided to them.

Venkatramani, Principal Consultant and Head IRM, Tata Consultancy
Services, presented the awards to the four students Amit Vohra,
Manudev, Abishek and Kundan Sinha.
Prof. K. Ushadevi, Dean, School of Computing, Prof. N. Anantharaman,
Registrar, SASTRA participated in the programme.
