Preamble

With the advent of high speed computing, computational fluid dynamics has become an integral part of engineering design, simulation, and performance analysis. It is highly desirable that graduating engineers are exposed to computational fluid dynamics as part of their engineering curriculum. With this objective, a one-week Faculty Development Program (FDP) on computational fluid dynamics is envisaged for mechanical and chemical engineering faculty of engineering colleges at School of Mechanical Engineering, SASTRA University. The workshop program consists of lectures and hands-on sessions, with emphasis on familiarizing fundamentals of CFD and exposure to commercial CFD tools (ANSYS - Fluent /CFX). This would eventually facilitate the faculty members to offer CFD course in their institutes.Fundamentals of CFD, grid generation, meshing, building computational model on commercial CFD tool (ANSYS - Fluent /CFX) and simulating the model for standard test cases will be focussed in the workshop.
 

Eligibility

  • Faculty, Post-graduate (M. Tech / M. E.) and Research Scholars from Chemical and Mechanical Engineering departments of AICTE / UGC approved institutes/ affiliated colleges/deemed universities
  • Should have pursued a course on Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer

Kindly write your full name and institute/ college name on the back side of the demand draft. Demand draft is to be sent latest by 3rd June 2017.
  • Participation will be confirmed by e-mail upon receipt of the demand draft.
  • Accommodation, on first-come first-serve basis, can be made available at SASTRA guest house on payment, subject to availability.
  • Certificate of participation will be issued to participants at the end of the workshop
