MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDING |
The
first quarter of year 2002 saw the fruition of collaborative
ventures and efforts with giant multinational and renowned
foreign Universities.
An
MoU was signed between Dr.Cham Tao Soon, President, Nanyang
Technological University, Singapore and Prof. R.Sethuraman,
Vice-Chancellor, SASTRA University on 1st February,
2002 at NTU, Singapore .
This MoU provides for joint research, faculty and
student exchange in the area of embedded systems between the
Centre for High Performance Embedded Systems (CHiPES) of
Nanyang Technological University and TIFAC-CORE at SASTRA
University.

Exchange copies of the MoU
The
semiconductor complex of India Ltd., and TIFAC-CORE at SASTRA University
signed an MoU on 19th March 2002 for training and research in
VLSI Design.
The VLSI circuitry designed at TIFAC-CORE at SASTRA will be
tested at the 0.35 micron foundry of SCL

COLLABORATION WITH BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH FACILITY AT NTU
|
Mr.S.Swaminathan, Dean-Student
Affairs and Miss. M. Vijayalakshmi, Senior Lecturer, EIE visited the
biomedical research facilities at Nanyang Technological University,
Singapore to explore the possibilities of joint research in the area
of biomedical engineering.
The University will soon enter into a collaborative venture
with BMERC, NTU in the area of Biomedical Engineering.
SASTRA’s
research activities and facilities have been augmented by the addition
of a super computer to its wealth of infrastructure.
The 16 CPU HP RP4800 Super Computer purchased at a cost of Rs.
11 million is installed at TIFAC-CORE Efforts
to establish a networked University campus have begun and by the end
of May 2002, SASTRA will enjoy a fully networked environment with 2
Mbps internet facility in each department.
SASTRA
University will offer IBM CERTIFIED SOFTWARE COURSES AND COURSES ON
AutoCAD in collaboration with AutoDesk Inc. for the benefit of the
students interested in acquiring a multi disciplinary skill set. |
