Caution on Off-Campus Centres
The admissions office of SASTRA University has recently received phone calls regarding off-campus centres of SASTRA. We would like to clarify that there is no off-campus centre of SASTRA other than its Thanjavur and Kumbakonam campuses which are duly notified by the Government of India u/s 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.

We would like you to bring to our immediate attention if you come across any person/organisation owing allegiance to SASTRA in the name of being a SASTRA authorized centre or off-campus centre. SASTRA has also not authorised any organization / institution to come under its ambit as it amounts to franchising and is against the UGC/MHRD directive.
We would also like to clarify in the general interest of the public that no University can conduct any full-time programmes in any of its off-campus centres without the centre being separately notified by the Ministry of Human Resources Development. The list of Deemed Universities and Off-campus centres notified by MHRD is available at
