1. The programme is aimed at generating next-generation teachers capable of handling a diverse set of teacher activities and meet the challenging demands of a quality teacher.

Any Bachelor degree from approved University with 45% of marks in aggregate

4.1 Programme Content
The B.Ed. Programme consists of a theory component and a practical component. The programme is of annual pattern.

5.2 Part – II – Theory – Optional Subjects
Post Graduates Shall offer their respective major subject as Optional I & II. All Under Graduates shall offer their major Subjects as Optional –II and English / Tamil as Optional – I
5.3 Part – III – Supervised Teaching and Field experience
Internship and Practice Teaching – Observation of Demonstration lessons, Observation of Peer’s lessons, Micro Teaching Skills practice, Integration of skills.
Educational Technology – Preparation of Teaching aids, Charts, Models, Tapes, Slides, Handling A.V. equipments LCD Projector, Evaluation of Educational Software and Preparation of Web pages.
Educational Evaluation – Construction of Test items, Preparation of answer key, Evaluation and interpretation of scores.
Records – Lesson plan records, Micro teaching records, observation records, Test and Management records, A. V. Record, SUPW & camp record, Library record, Physical & Health education record, Experimental Psychology record and case study record.
5.4 Class room methodology
Lecture, Lecture Discussion / Group discussion, Tutorials, seminars, Brain storming sessions
6. Requirements for successful completion of B.Ed. course and Earning Credits.
6.1 Attendance
The B.Ed. Course is of annual pattern. The duration of the course is 180 working days. This will include Internship of 30 days, 10 days of Observation classes and 20 days of intensive Teaching practice.
6.2 A student can appear at the end of the course only when he / she has put in a minimum of attendance of 75% during the academic year.
7. Evaluation Procedure
7.1 Out of 100 marks allotted for core and elective papers, 50 marks are allotted for Continuous Internal Assessment (C.I.A) and 50 marks for the annual external examinations.
7.2 Details of C.I.A.
First Test : 50 Marks*
Second Test : 50 Marks*
Third Test : 50 Marks*
Seminar : 10 Marks*
Assignment : 10 Marks*
· Best two of the three test marks, best two of the three seminar marks and best three of the four assignment marks will be taken for computing the C.I.A. mark. The total mark of 100 for internal assessment will be reduced to 50.
