  • The Admissions to various B. Tech. and 5-Year Integrated M. Tech. programmes of SASTRA (Thanjavur & Kumbakonam) shall be done in the following way:

Stream 1 – JEE-Main Score & Class XII Score: Admission to 50% of seats shall be based on normalised aggregate Class XII Scores and available JEE Main (2025) scores taken together with 50% weightage each. Seats shall be filled based on the Ranks Secured by student.

Stream 2 – Class XII Score: Remaining 50% of seats shall be based on the normalised aggregate Class XII score awarded by the respective boards. Rank list shall be prepared based on this aggregate score and admissions shall be made based on the rank secured.

All students shall be considered for both streams by default. If a student has not written JEE, in Stream 1 there will be no weightage to that part and rank will be based on Class XII scores alone. JEE is not mandatory.

The allotment of seats to students completing schooling at Thanjavur & Trichy (20%), Tamil Nadu (30%), All India (with reasonable cap for major States) remains unchanged with special provisions for NE States and other special status States/UTs.

For M. Tech., & M.Sc. programmes, admissions will be made on the basis of the scores in the qualifying UG / PG degree programme. 50% tuition fee waiver and stipend will be provided to GATE qualified candidates.

For 5-Year Integrated LLB (Honours) programmes (B.A., LL.B., B.Com., LL.B. & B.B.A., LL.B.), admissions will be based on the CLAT 2025 Scores and +2 aggregate with 50% weightage each.

For MBA programme, admissions shall be based on qualifying degree scores, entrance exam and interview. Students with good CAT / XAT / AIMAT / CMAT / AIMCAT scores will be given preference

For MCA programmes, admissions shall be based on qualifying degree scores and entrance exam conducted by SASTRA

For all other UG/PG degree programmes in Sciences, Arts, Commerce, Education, etc., admissions will be based on the qualifying exam marks and CUET 2025 (if CUET results are available on time.)

Please note that in the event of any changes and unreasonable delay in exams like JEE or CLAT or CUET beyond manageable time, then the admission policy shall also be changed at the sole discretion of the University’s competent authority to ensure that there is no delay in the academic calendar.

  • Certain students who have a passion to graduate with a CSE or IT major may not get admissions due to limited seats in popular courses. However, students admitted to other programmes like Mechanical, Civil, EIE or any other non-/cs/IT programme can have the option of graduating with a minor specialization in emerging technologies like AI/ML or Cybersecurity & IOT, robotics & Automation, etc. Likewise, students admitted to CSE/IT related programmes may graduate with a minor specialization in Innovation & Entrepreneurship or Supply Chain 7 Project Management or Public Policy & Management, etc. This increases employability of students in all the B.Tech. degree programmes.
