B.Tech. – Engineering Admissions
Admissions to various B. Tech. and 5-Year Integrated M. Tech. programmes of SASTRA (Thanjavur & Kumbakonam) shall be done in two phases (Phase I and II) with JEE Main 2026 scores alongside board marks and regional quotas. Phase I fills upto 50% of seats while Phase II covers up to the remaining 50%.
Phase I
- Phase I admissions will begin in April 2026 as soon as JEE Main Session 2 results are declared and shall be done based on JEE Main 2026 percentile (highest scorers prioritized, including second session improvements)
- Phase II based on two streams
- Stream 1: Combined Merit Score: 50% weightage to JEE Main 2026 percentile + 50% weightage to XII board marks
- Stream 2: Class XII Aggregate Board Marks: 100% weightage to Higher Secondary examination aggregate scores marks
Online counselling (Phase II) based on merit from both Streams shall begin within one week after all the major Boards Class XII Results are declared (June 2nd week)
By default, all students shall be considered for both streams during Phase 2. If a student has not written JEE, his / her JEE score will be considered as 0 and rank will be computed for Stream 1
Seat Distribution: The allotment of seats to students completing schooling at Thanjavur & Trichy (20%), Tamil Nadu (40%), All India (40% with reasonable cap / special allotment for major / minor States) with special provisions for NE States and other special status States/UTs.
5-Year LLB Programmes
Admissions to various 5-year Integrated LL.B. (Honours) programmes (B.A., LL.B., B.Com., LL.B. & B.B.A., LL.B.) shall be done in two phases (Phase I and II) with CLAT 2026 scores alongside board marks. Phase I fills upto 50% of seats while Phase II covers up to the remaining.
Phase I
- Phase I admissions will begin in April 2026 based on CLAT 2026 scores
Phase II
- Phase II shall begin within one week after all the major Boards Class XII Results are declared (June 2nd week) based on Combined Merit Score – 50% weightage to CLAT 2026 scores & 50% weightage to XII board marks
- If a student has not written CLAT, his / her CLAT score will be considered as 0 and rank will be computed
M.Tech. & M.Sc. Degree Programmes
For M. Tech., & M.Sc. programmes, admissions will be made based on the scores in the qualifying UG / PG degree programme. 50% tuition fee waiver and stipend will be provided to GATE qualified candidates. Admissions shall be done on a rolling basis in multiple phases.
M.B.A Degree Programme
Admissions shall be based on qualifying degree scores, entrance exam and interview. Students with good CAT / XAT / AIMAT / CMAT / AIMCAT scores will be given preference. Admissions shall be done on a rolling basis in multiple phases.
M.C.A Degree Programme
Admissions shall be based on qualifying degree scores and entrance exam conducted by SASTRA. Admissions shall be done on a rolling basis in multiple phases.
All Other Programmes
For all other UG / PG degree programmes in Sciences, Arts, Commerce, Education, etc., admissions will be based on the qualifying exam marks and CUET 2026 (if CUET results are available on time). Admissions shall be done on a rolling basis in multiple phases.
Please note that in the event of any changes and unreasonable delay in exams like JEE or CLAT or CUET beyond manageable time, then the admission policy shall also be changed at the sole discretion of the University’s competent authority to ensure that there is no delay in the academic calendar.
