JRF Vacancy in Natural Products (Secondary metabolites) Extraction/Isolation/Optimization 

Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the SERB funded research project

 

Name of the Project	Phyto-Crota Antimicrobials
Name of Sponsoring agency	Science and Engineering Research Board, India
Duration of the Project	Initially for one year and can be extended to 2 years
Fellowship	As per SERB norms Rs. 31,000/- pm for GATE and CSIR-NET qualified candidates. Otherwise as per the norms of SASTRA University
Essential Qualification	First Class in M. Sc. Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life science and M.Tech Biotechnology, Chemical engineering. with GATE / CSIR-NET qualification is preferred
Project Description	Extracting and Isolating bioactives from select plants of Crotalaria to target nosocomial infections. Project involves natural products (secondary metabolites) isolation, semi-synthesis and microbiology
Desirable	Fundamental knowledge in Chemistry and Biology with a desire to learn new techniques

 

The candidate is expected to register for Ph.D. for this project work.
