I CIA examinations for first year undergraduate and postgraduate programmes

Dear students of the freshmen batch in Section X1,
We hope you are all staying safe and are enjoying the online academic sessions. We look forward to meeting you all in a safer environment post-pandemic. The first set of continuous internal assessment (CIA) examinations to test your understanding of the concepts is scheduled to be held on an online mode between 18th January 2021 and 23rd January 2021. The exam schedule will be posted in the University website and will also be communicated to you through your google classrooms. We are sure that you will uphold the moral and ethical values and display utmost honesty and integrity in giving the examinations. Please go through the following instructions that need to be mandatorily followed during the CIA examinations.

Instructions to students:

  • Make sure that you are well prepared with the software and technical requirements in terms of bandwidth, connectivity and hardware to face the online examinations
  • Check the examination schedule on the website to ensure that you do not miss the exam
  • Login with your sastra.ac.in email id to the google classroom of the specific course for which the examination is scheduled
  • Logging in at least five minutes before the scheduled time for the examination is advisable to avoid any last minute panic
  • Questions can be accessed only at the designated time
  • There are three parts to the question paper:
    • First part requires you to fill in your personnel details (Name, Register number, Section, Name of the faculty handling the course)
      • These have to be filled mandatorily failing which the answer script will not be valid
    • Second part contains the questions
    • Third part provides an option to upload the completed answer script as a pdf file within the stipulated time
  • You may download the questions and write answers on A4 sheets
  • Number each page and sign on each page of the answer script
  • Pages that do not carry the candidate’s signature will not be valued
  • Each exam is scheduled for 90 minutes for a maximum mark of 50
  • At the end of 90 minutes, the parent or guardian must sign on each page of the answer script with the statement 'Ethically compliant'.
  • All pages must be scanned in to a single pdf that should be named with the register number of the candidate
  • The instructions for naming the file should be strictly adhered
  • The scanned answer script should be uploaded as a single pdf in the google classroom within 30 minutes of the scheduled close of the examination
  • In case, any one of you face difficulties in logging in or viewing the question paper or while uploading the answer script, you must contact your faculty in-charge for that course within 10 minutes of facing the problem through Whatsapp or phone
  • Any malpractice will attract strict disciplinary action according to the University rules

Special note:
The CIA exam for the course CSE101 Problem solving & Programming in C is a semi-theory-semi-lab course, the question paper will have two parts. The first part will be released at 9:30 AM and will be of 45 minute duration. You will be given a 15 minute window between 10:15 and 10:30 AM to scan and upload the answers for the first part of the question paper. The second part of the question paper will be accessible from 10:30 AM and will be of 45 minute duration. The answers for this part have to be scanned and uploaded between 11:15 and 11:30 AM.
