SASTRA Student secures AIR 8 in BINC

Ajithavalli C, of the Final Year B.Tech. programme in Bioinformatics of SASTRA University has secured the All India Rank 8 in the Bioinformatics National Certification ( BINC) conducted by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India in February 2012. Ajithavalli created this achievement by competing against the graduates in science, agriculture, veterinary science, Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering & Technology across the country. The All India Rank of 8 also earns her the distinction of securing the highest rank by a student from Tamil Nadu.

With this, she qualifies for a DBT BINC Junior Research Fellowships (DBT-BINC-JRF) research fellowship to pursue Ph.D. in Indian Institutes or University and a cash award of Rs. 10,000 for being in the top 10 in the country
