India’s leading Software Service Company M/s. TATA Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS) recruited 1755 students of the 2012 batch from SASTRA University, during their campus recruitment drive conducted at SASTRA on September 16 & 17, 2011. TCS surpassed its earlier record that it set at SASTRA last year. This also includes four students recruited for the R&D Division with a pay package of Rs.6.3 lakhs per annum.

2,100 students from various engineering streams both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels appeared for this interview conducted by over 170 experts from TCS. While addressing the candidates, Mr. G. Srinivasa Raghavan, Country Head of TCS, spoke on the future of the IT services industry and TCS’s initiative in emerging areas of mobility and product development. Mr. K.Ganesan, Vice-President – HR, TCS expressed satisfaction in the recruitment productivity and complimented SASTRA for its customized academic-industry institute intervention.

It is also notable that amongst the recruited students, Ms. K. Kanimozhi, B. Tech. IT Branch, is from the nearby village of Nattani. She will become the first engineering graduate from Nattani Village and also the first to work in an Indian multinational company like TCS. The Management of SASTRA is also providing financial assistance for her higher education at SASTRA as part of its social commitment.
