First Class in M.Tech (Biotechnology) / M.Sc (Biotechnology) / M.Sc (Life Sciences). Candidate who has qualified NET/ GATE will be preferred.
Glioblastoma is an aggressive cancer with poor patient survival of less than 15 months. Although few therapeutic molecules such as temozolomide (TMZ) are available the survival rate is very less due to less bioavailability and inability to cross blood-brain barrier (BBB). Studies have elucidated the role of glucose and acetate in causing aggressiveness and drug resistance of this cancer via
EGFR /PI3K /Akt /mTOR pathway.This project aims at identification of non-coding RNAs that regulate tumor cell
Proliferation in GBM cells during glucose and acetate availability by various cell based assays and In Vivo model system.

Candidates having previous experience in techniques such as cell-culture, Western blotting, Agarose gel electrophoresis, RT-PCR, MTT assay, Flow-cytometry, chromatin epigenetics (OR) Candidates with lot of interest in the field of cancer cell metabolism, microRNA, siRNA are encouraged to apply.
