MESSAGE FROM THE VICE-CHANCELLOR
A fine balance of scholarly knowledge and research
innovations contribute to Nation’s economy and growth.
Mindful of this, the Research & Innovation ecosystem at
SASTRA has reached a new dimension over the years.
SASTRA is recognized as a Scientific & Industrial Research
Organization (SIRO) by the Government of India and is
undertaking research for various agencies like Department
of Science & Technology, Department of Biotechnology,
Department of AYUSH, Indian Council of Medical Research,
Defense Research & Development Organization, Indian
Space Research Organization, Board for Research in Nuclear
Sciences, etc.
Since its inception, SASTRA has been nurturing research in
basic and applied domains at all levels. The state-of-the-art
infrastructure, competent faculty and support in the form
of seed grants & research personnel, advanced training and
opportunities to network with research teams in India and
abroad have resulted in visible research outcomes.
SASTRA has created 22 inter-disciplinary research centres
and has established state-of-the-art laboratories for the
successful implementation of research projects. The
encouragement and support given through Research &
Modernization Scheme, Seed grant through Prof. TRR Fund,
stipend for full-time Ph.D. scholars through the Teaching
Featured in the Assistantship fund, various research incentives, etc., motivate
Times Higher and provide impetus to faculty and students to engage in
Education meaningful research. In the last 5 years, Rs 1016.34 lakh has
