Report on Indian Philosopher’s Day

Indian Philosopher’s Day One Day Conference was organized by SASHE , SASTRA University, Thanjavur on 25.7.2024. It was sponsored by Indian Council for Philosophical Research, Ministry of Education, Government of India. The Convenors of the conference were Dr. R.Jayasree, Assistant Professor, DoE, SASHE, and Dr. S.Thiyagarajan, Assistant Professor, Department of Oriental Studies and Research, SASHE, Sastra University
Dr.K.Uma Maheswari, Prof & Dean, SASHE felicitated the speakers of the day and explained how philosophical values are deep rooted in the Indian Context. The first session was addressed by Dr.R.Seshadri, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Sanskrit, Swami Dayananda College of Arts and Science, Manjakudi, Tiruvarur. The next session was addressed by Shri Acharya G. Guest faculty, Department of Oriental studies and Research, Sastra Deemed University, Thanjavur. The first session of afternoon was addressed by Dr.P.Narasimhan, Prof & Head (Retd), Department of Sanskrit, University of Madras, Chennai. He deliberated on the topic ‘Relevance of Srimad Ramanujacharya’s Philosophical Traditions in Contemporary society. The last session was addressed by Dr.S.Venugopalan, Professor, Department of Oriental Studies, Sastra Deemed University, Thanjavur.
